MP3 Power Encoder - Whenever I copy a CD to my hard-drive, I use Cyberlink's
MP3 Power Encoder rather than Microsoft's default WMA encoding
(yuck). This program integrates directly into Windows media player
which makes it extremely easy to use since there are no extra steps to
getting your CD music into MP3 format...and best of all it's very
inexpensive at only $9.95 (can't beat that). Customizable for the
compression that suits your needs (and hard-drive size or portable media
player).

Auction Sentry - If you use eBay, which now in days most people do,
you need this program period! Auction Sentry allows you to track
all the eBay auctions you are interested in putting in your max bids at
the last moment (called sniping). This method of bidding prevents
an auction from being bid up too high as well as providing you with the
highest chance of success. I have been using this program for
years and the amount of money I've saved FAR outweighs the small
cost they charge. I would highly recommend buying the
Deluxe Version over the Standard though since the Deluxe version has
features in it that you will quickly find invaluable. Regardless
which version you choose, they offer trial periods for both so you can
easily see for yourself what advantages

AnyDVD - Ever want to make a backup copy of your DVD movies but you
can't because they are CSS or Region Code protected?
Well now you can with
AnyDVD made by
SlySoft, Inc.
AnyDVD descrambles DVD movies automatically in the background making
Windows and DVD copying software see them as standard unprotected DVD
disks. This program is absolutely amazing and worth 10x it's price
if you have kids who just can't seem to take care of your DVD movies (I
have 3 kids and it has saved me a bundle). At $39.00 it will
quickly pay for itself when it saves just 2 of your movies from the
trash can. If you don't already have DVD copying software, look
into their full program
CloneDVD, a little more expensive but doesn't require existing DVD
copying software to run.
SlySoft, Inc. also makes
CloneCD for people needing to make backup copies of music or data
CD's that are copy protected.

Diskeeper - Some of you may have already heard about
Diskeeper from
Executive Software. This is by far the best
disk defragmenting program I've ever used (and will continue to
use). From what I'm told Win2K and WinXP use an old version of
their engine (but don't quote me on that). Their GUI's are very,
very similar. Anyway the latest
Diskeeper not only runs faster and better than Windows defragmenter,
it also can be set up to run automatically in the background so your
disks stay defragmented. Most people don't realize that the
hard-drive is the bottleneck in today's computers. Keeping your
disk defragmented helps increase the performance you get out of your
computer. When was the last time you defragmented your disk?

Processor) - this is a high end commercial product for analyzing gene
sequence to drug response relevancies.
- AIVision (Artificially Intelligent Video Analysis)
- Creature World - this program was originally created for my son to
explain and demonstrate Genetic Algorithms (and evolution) but has become
quite popular with friends and family. So popular that I'm refining
the program and releasing it to the public. Now you to will soon be
able to enjoy the fun of having your very own Creature World.
- Digital Video Recorder - There are many of these out there already.
What makes this one different is the ability to record multiple cameras
simultaneously to individual files. So if you have 4 webcams hooked
up, you can record from all of them rather than just one at a time.
- Engine Airflow Calculator - Ever build a high performance engine and had
the question "how big of a carburetor should I put on it?". To small and
you rob the engine of power at the top end. To large and it bogs the engine
at the low end. This program will calculate that for you so you can select
the optimal sized carburetor for you high performance car. The program
may also be expanded to cover other car calculations such as gear ratio vs.
top speed, etc.
- Hush (A cheap simple solution to automating the sound levels on
the computer without having to touch a thing - Let's you turn down the
computers volume at night so no one is disturbed by incoming email messages
for example. This is especially good for computers on all the time and located
in or close to sleeping quarters or guests.)
- Loan Calculator - Basic stuff here.
- MetaStock Data Converter - Reads, displays and exports to ASCII format
any MetaStock data file you have.
- NexTrade Stock Manager (Artificially Intelligent Trading Program - currently
encapsulated in ANNI v3.xx)
- Simple Stock Ticker - Program to display free delayed quotes streaming
across a small window that can be placed anywhere on your screen.
- Spirograph - Allows you to create almost any spirograph of various,
shapes, sizes and colors then export it to a bmp file (or print) for use in
anything you want.
- WebAlive - Monitors web sites and alerts you if they are down.
- WebCam Snapshots - Similar to the Digital Video Recorder above, but
exports to a picture file for web use.
